How to List Your First Item
A short guide to sharing with your neighbors
Listing on Village is simple: open the app (or use Village in your browser), tap the Post tab, and you'll see "What would you like to do?" with four options: Lend an Item, Give Away (free), Request an Item, or Borrow for an Event. To list an item, choose Lend or Give Away, add a photo and a few details. You choose the category (tools, gear, party supplies, etc.), set a description, and you're live. Neighbors nearby can find your item and send a request.
A few tips: use a clear photo, mention condition and any rules (e.g. "pick up only"), and keep your radius reasonable so handoffs are easy. The more your listing feels real and specific, the more likely the right borrower will find it.
Once someone requests, you'll chat in the app to agree on timing and handoff. After the return, you can leave a review. That reputation helps the whole neighborhood trust each other—and makes the next borrow or lend even smoother.
